What’s the entry fee please?

As a club we would like to say a massive congratulations to our 1XV who beat a strong Burnley side away from home 49-17 Saturday...a team that just two seasons ago put 90 points past our lads

And with that result the league came to a close and they finished 2nd place by a single point, congratulations to Wigan RUFC on a great season

Whilst there could be complaints about bonus points being awarded for walkovers etc, it is with great pride that our lads got to play a full season of league fixtures. The only top 4 side to do so. Credit to the other teams in the league for being great ambassadors for rugby in lancashire

The title aside its been great for fitness, match practice and has been an all round great and entertaining season

The lads now go into the ADM Prem where they will face some fantastic clubs in LSH, West Park, Widnes etc

With a little more consistancy on the road who knows what next season could have in store for the lads..... league title?! We will find out next year!

The men in green now look towards the weekends trip to Thornton Cleverleys to decide who will take on Garstang in the final of the Alan Stone Lancashire Bowl... a HUGE game in store, and one which the lads will need all the support they can get to get a result

See you there! #GreenArmy

Your #GreenArmy 2XV to travel to Wallasey 1XV this weekend in the last game of their season

Despite a mixed season, the squad could potentially finish in the top half of the table should they take the spoils away against 5th placed Wallasey

The last time the two sides met was here at Green Lane where they drew 17-17

The squad has changed massively then with the loss of almost the entirety of the old hands that once bolstered the 2XV - but now with the influence of colts, they have found their early season form with 3 wins in 4 attempts

Kick Off 3pm @ Wallasey RUFC

Good luck 🍀

It’s been changed to 2pm ko. See you at cross lane for some entertaining rugby and beers afterwards.

Your #GreenArmy 1XV to travel to Burnley RUFC tomorrow in the final game of the league season

With promotion secured, the lads travel with a target of a bonus point win to keep the pressure on Wigan who also need a Bonus Point to ensure they finish top

James Smith and Steven Ekuor make 8 changes to the side which narrowly beat the same Burnley team just 7 days ago in the League Cup Semi-Final - a lot of young faces who have trained hard this year getting their reward

Whilst fortunes have been favourable this season against Burnley, it is worth noting that the last time Ormskirk travelled to Burnley was in September 2016 of the 16/17 season where Burnley romped home to a 91-17 victory.

Times have changed but Burnley still remain a quality side and have been beaten just twice at home by 1st and 3rd this season - the lads will need to be on top form to come back with the result they want

Elsewhere the 2XV were gifted a home walkover against league leaders St Edwards Old Boys

Disappointing for the 25 men not to get a game but with the win the lads sit comfortably in 8th place and are SAFE FROM RELEGATION

A win next week away at Wallasey will see them finish in the top half of the table

Well done all
